It wasn't really the downbeat ending but rather the dismissal of Haymitch and Gale that annoyed me. They just kinda go. I liked the way that Katniss ended up with Peeta though, as even if things were all rosy in the end Katniss did seem to love him more than Gale. I do need to give it time though. Really interested in the film now!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02524511592454212798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6195420941039646116.post-19034665633803996612013-05-15T16:57:58.354+01:002013-05-15T16:57:58.354+01:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02524511592454212798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6195420941039646116.post-88995971399210870972013-05-15T16:51:24.016+01:002013-05-15T16:51:24.016+01:00I kind of agree, in that that is pretty much exact...I kind of agree, in that that is pretty much exactly what I thought when I 1st put down the book too
However, over time, I kept thinking about how I'd do it differently and every time I came up against a big stumbling block

How I now feel about the ending and some of the plot points you've mentioned are that it's so deeply unfair - but also somehow real

It's not hollywood. You've not got the big happy ending (though in its weird way it is still a happy ending). Due to how we've been raised, in the initial, it's more of a let down, but somehow, over time, becomes more invigorating for that
I might be wrong, but let me know if, over time, you change your mind like me tooAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03487255257584999361noreply@blogger.com
